National Japanese American Historical Society awarded Takahashi Grant
Henri and Tomoye Takahashi, Martha Suzuki and daughter Masako through the Henri and Tomoye Takahashi Charitable Foundation have been responsible for preserving, supporting, and promoting Japanese American cultural organizations that reflect the diversity of the community. Over the decades they have helped organizations share the stories of the Japanese American experience and celebrate the rich cultural heritage.
The National Japanese American Historical Society, Inc. president Derrek Tomine stated: “NJAHS is grateful for the generosity of the Takahashi Foundation and is proud to have such an amazing partner in our community programming and preservation efforts. During a time of uncertainty in federal and local funding for nonprofit organizations, the generous grants and partnership with the Takahashi Foundation provides critical support for the education that NJAHS conducts nationally on Japanese American history. NJAHS is honored by the Takahashi Foundation’s belief in our work and deeply appreciate their dedication to preserving the Japanese American experience.”
