Spurred by the need to identify and compile a comprehensive list of Military Intelligence Service Unit and Individual Awards, several Japanese American veterans and historical organizations, including the National Japanese American Historical Society, Japanese American Veterans Association, Go For Broke National Education Center, MIS Veterans of Hawaii, and Nisei Veterans Committee of Seattle have joined efforts to pour through their archives and collections to produce a credible medals and awards count.

The National Japanese American Historical Society seeks a qualified undergraduate or graduate level intern who is ready to take on this task. This is a paid 2 -month internship which requires a person with experience in data entry and archival research, a strong work ethic, is highly motivated, is attentive to detail, and is very interested in Japanese American military history.

Temporary Position: June 20 – August 20,  2016

Compensation: $2000.
